Viridian Room - Walkthrough

Hopefully after this post the complaining will stop. I lost my old walkthrough I wrote for this game... but I rewrote it. Here's my new one:

Pull the string for the light to turn it on (you'll see a small white rectangle floating there). Sticking into the edge of the screen it a white corner, click it to look right. Then click the cooler (it looks like a cooler) again. Then click to open it, then click the inside to zoom in a bit, and then click to close it. Something brown on the right side of it is revealed. Click it. Look inside this trashcan and get the paper with hair on it (is that hair? if it is... that's creepy). Click the paper with hair on it in your inventory, click About Item. Now click the bottom of the trashcan to lift it. Get the lighter. Go to the cooler again and open it. Get the can of beer. Now put it back in. Click the meat on the white board on the top shelf of the inside of the cooler. Click the meat to reveal a white square with a strange japanese character on it. Get it. Close the cooler and zoom out to the left. Now go right twice and get the next white square with a strange japanese character on it, its on the wall close to the ceiling. Let's call them white squares for now. Go right. Now you'll see the lamp is sticking down from the ceiling a bit. Click the bit that sticks down. A white square is on top of the lamp, its blended in with the ceiling because it's been colored red. Now look down again. Go right and click the top shelf of the gray bookcase. Look left, get the white square. Now look right, get the stick of incense. Zoom back out and go right. Click under the two brown pillows on the floor in the corner. Get the white square. Go right to the small red bookcase. Look under the blue slippers, get the white square. Click the slippers again for them to be put back down. Click under the bookcase to slide out a picture frame. Get it. Go back to the gray bookcase. Look in the cabinets on the bottom and click the yellow book. In the first page are two pictures, get them. See the red peeking in on the very bottom of the opened-cabinet screen? Click it. Now click the red mat again. A skeleton is revealed. Get the blue-capped bottle of pills from the skeletons right hand. Then click it's hand as fast as you can over and over until it drops a key. Take it. Cover the skeleton and zoom back out to the original view of the gray bookcase. Click the bottle of pills in your inventory, click About Item. Click the cap to open it. Take out the pills, then the paper. Now unfold the paper. Write down the pattern of the specific symbols, remember it. I took a picture of it using the Print Screen (Prt Scr Sys Rq) button on my keyboard. Then saved it into paint by pasting it into paint. Here's the picture:

If you're not still in the zoom of the skeleton's lower body, get back into that view. Now click the red mat to take it. Click it then do About Item. Keep clicking it until you rip it open. Click the green cross. Click the Try To Escape button now. Look back at the gray bookcase. Use the key on the red book to unlock and open it. Keep flipping through the pages until you see the worst day of his life. So write down the birthdate (date on top). Now flip through the empty pages slowly until you find a CD at the end. Take it. On the skeleton's feet is a bike lock. The first two numbers are the month's number in the birthdate (if the date is less than ten, zero is the first number). Then the last two, the day of the month (zero is first number if it's less than ten). When you get it right, it will unlock. Click the paper and black hair in your inventory. Click About Item. Use the lighter on the black hair. Then keep clicking the paper until writing appears below and the pattern is perfectly brown. Write the pattern down. It's important, also different every time. You may want to Print Screen it. The positioning of the brown squares is just like the chinese symbols. Use this pattern and refer to the placement of the chinese symbols and find each symbols corresponding number (forget the symbols that don't have a corresponding number). Click the green cross and click about item. Put the white squares into their positions. Once placed correctly, it will form a white cube. Click the Try to Escape button. Click you CD case and then click About Item. Click to open. Put the CD inside. Click to close. If you didn't refrigerate the beer by putting it back in the cooler after you took it, do it now. It'll take a few minutes to be ready. When it says "so chilly" then it's done, so take it back and make sure it says that when you do About Item on it. Go to the gray bookcase. Look at the third shelf from the top (the one right above the cabinets). Put the beer, the CD in the CD case, and then stick of incense down. Now use the lighter on the stick of incense. Then click the red stick to ring the bell. Finished!

Now I understand some people are having trouble constructing the soul box out of the cross. It is a very hard thing to explain in words and I can see why you may have had trouble. So I made a video tutorial on it.

I can't find any more good games from the same Jap developer apart from Crimson Room. He is good and I like his style of Point n Click games.

I believe he'll make another part that goes with the Viridian Room. The chain starts at Crimson Room, it should end with a good story.
