We are currently looking for a coder to work on our online game project : « Rome – The Republic »

The game is what you could call a hybrid, as in falls in the rare category of “role playing-strategy online game”. ;D



The historical context is Ancient Rome, at the very beginning of the Republic. Every single player is a roman citizen given the opportunity to increase his personal wealth by producing and selling his goods to the other players, with products ranging from building materials to luxury goods important from faraway countries. The player’s actions and decisions will earn him experience, which will increase his Intelligence and Command attributes, as well as his Fame and Popularity ratings.


The Concept as such is to give the player a huge amount of possibilities in the orientation of his career among roman society, without the usual “Class” restrictions. Production of goods, trade, crime, politics or military command, it’s all up to the player’s choices throughout the game.
Add to that a large choice of skills and followers to pick from, the possibility to team up and hire other players to help you manage your belongings or your career in a massively multiplayer game right from your browser, and you get a resumed yet good look at Rome – The Republic


We are looking for a coder:

- capable in php5 and postgresgl
- interested in the game concept and, even better, in the history of Ancient Rome
- wishing to participate on the long-term in a very serious project
- interested in working in a dynamic and international team, mainly with a very experienced coder
