I seriously am new to this gaming stuff but i can't seem to be able to do anything but look at stuff...what should i do? i try clicking and nothing happens. I feel so ridiculously stupid

Click on certain places. Eventually, they'll help you find stuff and move to different parts of the room.

Yeah that's what Point N' Click games are. You point you're mouse to a designated spot, and click. Something happens if it's the right spot.
