ok im totally stuck...i got the cd case, 4 cards with chinese writing, a lighter, medicine bottle, hair, 2 pictures, a picture frame and a can of beer. it looks like ill need atleast 2 more cards with chinese writing...i burned the hair of the paper and was able to find a message..it displays number like on dice..i figured out that the paper in the medicine bottle decodes where the chinese cards go on the code..but the problem is im missing 2 cards. anyone find all the cards?

FINALLY!!! Finished the walkthrough!


Look in the trashcan next to the small fridge. You have to open the fridge and close it again to be able to reach the trashcan. Get the hair out of the trashcan and into your inventory.
Select the hair in your inventory, and click "About Item". You need to do this to unlock the next step.
Now that you've examined the hair, you can lift the trashcan (if you don't inspect everything in your inventory, nothing happens when you click the trashcan). Get the lighter from under the trashcan.
Back to the fridge. Open the fridge and get the can of beer from it, then put it right back in. You need to do this to refrigerate the can.
Check under the meat in the fridge to find the first symbol. If you didn't before, put the beer back into the fridge.
Click to the right of the trashcan to turn and face the wall. You'll see another white card with a symbol on it.
Click to the right to turn again, until you see a blue door. You'll see a bit of the lamp near the top right of the screen. Click it.
It's hard to see, but another symbol card is hiding on top of the lamp (it's shaded red instead of white, it's on the left side of the lamp).
Check the top shelf of the gray bookcase, and look in the left-hand side for another symbol card.
While you're there, check the right-hand side of this top shelf for a bundle of incense.
Check under the two brown pillows to the right of the bookcase for another symbol card.
Check under the blue slippers in the short red bookcase for another symbol card.
Click the slippers to put them back down, then click the space under the red bookcase to reveal an empty frame.
Look in the bottom cupboard of the gray bookcase for a yellow book. Take the two photos from inside it.
Click the red mat on the floor in the center of the room to reveal a skeleton.
Take the blue bottle of pills from the skeleton's right hand. Then, click the skeleton's other hand a few times until it drops a key. Take it.
Inside the bottle of pills is a piece of paper with Chinese symbols on it. You will need to remember the symbols and their pattern. You can try to write the symbols on a piece of paper, or just refer to the image on this page.
Now that you've got the key, you can take the red mat that was covering the skeleton. Examine it and click it a couple times until you open it. Get the green cross from inside.
The key from the skeleton unlocks the diary, the red book on the bookcase. Use the key on the lock, and read (click the hand symbols to flip the pages).

When you get to the page where the writer says his girlfriend's birthday is in two days, stop. Write down the month and day of her birthday (that would be two days after the date of the entry where he mentions it).

If you're confused, it's the date of the entry where he says it's the worst day of his life. The date is random, be sure to write it down.
Slowly flip through the empty pages of the diary. After the last page you will find a CD. Take it.
Now check the skeleton's feet to find a bike lock. The first two numbers of the combination are the month of the girlfriend's birthday (use a 0 as the first number if it's less than ten). The last two numbers are the day of her birthday (again, use a 0 if it's less than ten). When you get it right, it will unlock.
Examine the black hair in your inventory. Select the lighter, and use it on the black hair many times until the pattern appears completely brown (the game will say something when you're done). This pattern is also random, write it down.

NOTICE that this pattern corresponds to the pattern of the Chinese symbols.
Examine your CD case, open it, and put the CD in.
Examine the green cross. The dots from the black hair paper (which are random each game) correspond to the dots on the cross. Find the Chinese symbol that is in the same position as the brown square with one dot in it (on the black hair paper), and place that symbol on the green square with one dot in it (on the green cross).

Look at this example to help you understand how to place the symbols. The last one is left out because if it were placed, the cross would become a box.
When you get it right, it turns into a box.
If you didn't put the beer back in the fridge, do it now. You'll have to wait a few minutes for the beer to get chilly. Take the beer out of the fridge and examine it. If it says "so chilly", it's ready.

Now put the CD case, the beer, and the bundle of incense on the altar on the gray bookcase (it's the shelf with the bell and bowl on it). Use the lighter on the bundle of incense to light it. Now click the stick to the right to ring the bell. You're done!
