Default Oh!

I've used that before! I used to use that all the time. Me and my friends have made tons of games. Try this one: Puzzlemaster v3

Game Maker is the easiest to develop simple games. I have made few any it is full fun and feels great to play the game made by you. It is simple and has best results.

I must admit gamemaker is a superb program, and I recommend it if you are a newbie to making games.

The only downside to it is that your game is published in an .exe file. So if you want other users to play it they have to download it to their computer first, and they can't just play it in the browser. Also, you must use bitmap style sprites for the game, as opposed to the flexibility, scalability and easily animated/modified vector style of flash.

But I would definitely give gamemaker a try as a starting point before you move on to other things.

I've been using it since version 5, deffinetely the easiest way to make a simple game.

The problem I had with it was that it only creates the games in .exe format. So you can't put them as playable games on your site (like flash games) you can only offer links to download the game.

Still cool though!
lol, if your 11 like me it's literally impossible. same thing with an emulator; how the hell do you get the damn thing running?

Well I was making simple games at age 11 I remember. Also emulating is especially easy. Just get it, then download a .ROM or another file that works and open it with the emulator to play it. From there you can use the built-in action replay where you can enter codes to do things to the game (cheats).
