Hotel Escape **WALKTHROUGH**

Okay, I don't normally do this, but I was so frustrated by the fact that English was not the first language for whomever wrote the text in the game, that I wanted to make it easy for a newer person to win, hoping to encourage them to play other games.

A note before proceeding: Above your inventory list (on the right) is a box that says FREE HANDS. When you are done with an item, click this box or you will continue to use that item anytime you click on something.

Picking up an item to put into your inventory, or opening things in the scene, is in bold. Choosing an item from your inventory to use is in italics.

ESCAPE THE HOTEL IN LESS THAN 30 SECONDS!
(unless you're on dialup, you poor thing)

The game opens with you looking at a wardrobe (a closet) with a dartboard on it; on the lower left is a flashlight on a chair. CLICK ON THE FLASHLIGHT. The light will help, a little. Move your cursor to the area above the closet; it will prompt you to look on top of it. You will find a silver key there; CLICK ON THE SILVER KEY. Go back to the room view.

Look right, and you will see a nightstand next to the bed. Click on the key in your inventory list, then CLICK ON THE NIGHTSTAND. ENTER 2560 IN THE PASSWORD BOX. CLICK ON THE GOLD KEY. Return to the room view.

CLICK ON THE TOP BLANKET. Click on Blanket in your inventory. CLICK ON REMAINING BLANKET ON BED. You should now see "Tied blankets" in your inventory list. Click on the "key from the safe" in your inventory list, then CLICK ON THE GREY DOOR ON THE LEFT OF THE WINDOWS.

In your inventory list, click on the tied blankets then CLICK ON THE RAILING. The blankets should now be tied to the railing itself. CLICK THE TIED BLANKETS ON THE RAILING and you're done! You should now be seeing "YOU WIN!"

Congratulations -- you just cheated your way through yet another puzzle!


Author's note: There are many items in the room that CAN be picked up, but do not NEED to be picked up in order to solve the puzzle and Escape the Hotel.

BROKEN LIGHT SWITCH PUZZLE: The broken light switch puzzle is easy. In the top desk drawer is a paper clip ("paper clamp" in the game), pick this up. In your inventory list, click on the paper clamp. Now click on the glue bottle in the drawer. Go back to the desk view. On top of the desk is a cup next to the lamp, pick up the red-handled screwdriver in the cup. Go back to the switch. Click on the screwdriver, then the switch. Click on the Glued paper clamp in your inventory, then the switch. The room will now be lit up. Puzzle solved!
