OGN Moderation

It seems that the search for potential Mods has resulted in some unnecessary friction and the lack of adequate moderation has led to genuine members being offended by others. In view of the controversy in the forum mod poll, OGN has decided to defer appointing moderators for a few months.

Instead, the Admin has been asked to do a better job in administering the forums which includes selecting Mods. These are some of the points highlighted for the Admin to look into:

1) GameChat - GameChat used to post as 'M.O.Y.A.', an old account that had been warned for offensive posts and because the username had rude content. The new GameChat account is the result of MOYA being given a second chance to be a good OGN forum member.

There's no doubt that GameChat is a great contributor to the forums. However, we've been told to make an official (public) request for GameChat to:

(i) stop offending other members,
(ii) especially new members and forum newbies
(iii) AND, to stop spam posting in every single thread.

GameChat- thanks for your positive contributions and please be warned of the points above

2) Offensive Content - please keep the forums friendly and games-focused. Any members being repeatedly rude or offensive to other members will be banned.

3) Members Rankings & Benefits - there's a lot of stuff that will be coming in the next few months. Do share any ideas for gifts, prizes, and rewards which you think will be cool Members' Benefits...

If you have any other points of discussion about improving the OGN forums, do share your feedback and suggestions.

If it says GameChat in bold and it has text afterwards, then no, it is not directed to you.

GameChat sorta still does be offensive... if you check his thread, "Enough." (locked already) it has enough (lol) evidence to prove that he shouldn't be a mod.

Yes, I bump and used to spam and had 2 other accounts that got banned. Why? I was 7-8 years old. GameChat bumps,flames, and spams (we sorta connect that way

) and I do all of those. Think about this though..

GameChat a whopping 2,969 posts.. about 7/10s of that being bumps, flames, and spamming, etc.. I have 374 posts. Not horrible, not perfect. In between. GameChat has the.. lets say 'way'.. of pissing others off. I do too. We both shouldn't be mod..

Lock please?

edit: I'm also considering introducing a video chat room if I become mod, or quite possibly an admin.

lol what about me? I got 1,000 something posts I'd say only about 1-20 are spam, bumps or anything else. I dunno how many useless posts i made but that's just a estimate. O.O

Edit: Just got like 4 more useless posts telling player 1 to stop bumping

Why did you have to bump something that died 5 months ago? Anyway, 7/10s of my posts are not bumps. 4/10s are.

I still don't see why anyone else wants the job. I don't think it will be needed in my opinion.

Only 200 posts and all of them are either contributing to threads or asking users not to bump old threads.
