A mod is a moderator..
someone who watches the forums, replies to people's threads who need help, answer questions, delete or edit inappropriate messages.
But aren't quite an admin, the only difference is admin has full control of the forum to even moderate the moderators if you like... and lock forums or threads to stop people posting.
If that makes sense.
